WOMEN'S DOUBLES & KID'S SINGLES

The Badminton Tournament for Women and Kids held within Hiranandani Estate last weekend displayed the spirit of sportsmanship and community amongst the residents.

From 6.45am on Sat 22nd to the late hours of Sun 23rd Feb, 83 participants came together from across 16 buildings and competed on 7 outdoor courts at 4 different venues! The hosts-Jasper, Crown, Flora & Princeton were extremely accommodating, and warm. Through each of the 173-1st Round Matches, the Women and Kids slashed it out on court and the League format ensured a fair chance to each player. As the games progressed the competition, cheering and the excitement grew to a worthy Grand Finale with cutthroat shuttling and an experience, which will remain in our memories!

Encouraged by the previously held HBL Mens Doubles Tournaments in December 2013, the women came forth for a consistent display of talent. CrownA Ladies won the HBL Womens Doubles Campionship 2014 with Princeton as the Runners up. In the Kids Seniors category, we saw some amazing potential with great court coverage and game sense. It was a close call between Aryan Bathija from Greenwich, at 1st Place followed by Siddharth Dwivedi from Crown, at 2nd Place. Kids Juniors shocked the crowd with their calm yet tremendous play and saw M.L.Adit from Crown at 1st Place and Kunal Tilaganji from Crown at 2nd Place. There were consolation prizes for the 3rd Place.Mr.

Praveen Nagare (Hiranandani Shakha Pramukh of Shiv-Sena) got monetary sponsorship from Shiv-Sena, in the form of prize money for winners. Decathlon sponsored gifts for winners, Total Sports and Nutri-Bar sponsored in cash, gift vouchers and free samples.
